Meeting Fees & Sliding Scale
Introductory meetings are complimentary. All subsequent meetings are billed at a rate of $120 per hour, charged in 15-minute increments. Most meetings are scheduled for one hour, but clients are only billed for the actual duration of the meeting, rounded up to the nearest 15 minutes. Deposits of 50% are required at the time of booking; remaining fees are billed at the end of every month.
A sliding scale is available for those with limited resources. We can also prioritize shorter and/or fewer meetings. Goldfinch Scholars is committed to supporting anyone with the desire to apply to college. Gold Package
The Gold Package provides six weeks of personalized admissions coaching for just $600, a savings of more than 15%. By the end of that time, you’ll have a submit-ready essay and a clear path to completing your application.
Example timeframe:
Free Introductory Consultation
Week 1: Identify personal learning goals, investigate programs, understand admissions requirements
Week 2: Synthesize personal and program goals; contact faculty and admissions offices
Week 3: First draft of Statement of Purpose
Week 4: Résumé/C.V.; getting great letters of recommendation
Week 5: Revised draft of Statement of Purpose
Week 6: Final edits to Statement of Purpose; Wrap Up
If mutually agreed by both the client and Goldfinch Scholars, additional meetings may be scheduled for the standard fee. Additional meetings may be required if there are more application components, such as supplemental essays or portfolios, or if any component requires additional time to develop.
Promo code provided after free introductory consultation. The Gold Package may not be combined with the New Client Special. No refunds are provided in the case of missed or shortened meetings, unless previously arranged. A sliding scale is available for additional meetings, if needed (see above).
Essay Only
Line editing is available for clients who already have an existing essay draft. We’ll first work on content and structure, then finalize your essay with proofreading and copy editing. Most essays require 1-3 reviews. Written comments, suggestions and corrections are provided online. The fee is $0.05 per word per draft.
New Client Special
New clients receive a discount of 15% off the first four meetings, plus the free introductory meeting. This can be especially helpful for clients who believe they require fewer meetings than offered in the Gold Package.

Oxy, UW & Vashon Specials
Current students or alumni of either Occidental College or the University of Washington receive an additional 10% off all meetings. Vashon residents also receive an additional 10% off all meetings.

Gift Cards
Do you know a would-be student? Would you like to support their college or scholarship application? Electronic gift cards are available in any amount. Use the “Contact” form to tell us who you would like to support and in what amount, and we’ll send you all the details.
All gift card recipients also receive a free introductory consultation. Gift card funds are applied to subsequent meetings until all funds are used. Clients are responsible for all additional fees.
